The TRIP™ Think Group Session will have Dr. Joseph Chen and his team from the Maryland Imaging Research Technologies Laboratory (MIRTL) present both the patient-centric and information system-based data collection databases and the overall methodology of a SIIM-funded research study designed to validate and assess the TRIP™ workflow lexicon. Participants and attendees will be asked to critique the spreadsheets and the overall methodology of the planned study, and provide recommendations.

Objectives:

  1. To introduce the SIIM community to the proposed TRIP validation study of imaging workflow, including detailed lists of elements, metrics, and proposed methods.
  2. To solicit experience-based community input on potential limitations and challenges of the proposed project, as well as suggestions for additional elements and other parameters for study.
  3. To enlist the participation of potential validators who, once the study is complete, can replicate the quantified workflow metric approach at their own institutions and practices.
  4. To enlist technical participants to collaborate in the development of the technical model for data retrieval.
