EDUCATION PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

SIIM 2012 is shaping up to be the most comprehensive Education Program yet! The SIIM Annual Meeting presents a program of collaborative learning for imaging informatics professionals in all of the imaging specialties. It combines networking activities, hands-on learning opportunities, and interactive dialogue with real-world take-home knowledge and solutions.

General Sessions

SIIM’s general sessions have always been a highlight of the annual meeting, providing timely information while entertaining meeting attendees. The general sessions include the opening and closing sessions, as well as the Samuel J. Dwyer, III, PhD, FSIIM Memorial Lecture. Each day, a general session is scheduled, spotlighting core topics of interest to informatics professionals. Join visionaries in the field and participate in high-energy, insightful general sessions that feature the best and the brightest in the field of imaging informatics.

Learning Tracks

The 2012 Education Program will contain eight learning tracks, five of which will be new to the 2012 program. Each Learning Track will typically include an education session, an applied learning session, and a scientific session, providing attendees with multi-dimensional learning environments.

The Sunday Learning Series: Tools of the Trade Learning Labs provides participants with a small group, active-learning environment where they can practice the skills need for their profession.

Hot Topics Sessions

The Hot Topic Sessions will feature timely content of interest to the imaging informatics community. Presented by leading experts, these sessions will focus on the industry's latest developments and address current issues all imaging informatics professionals are facing today. SIIM 2012 Hot Topic Sessions will include:

Integrated Learning Sessions and Activities

The highly ranked integrated learning activities are designed to encourage interaction between the educational program and the technical exhibits, and to extend the opportunity for personal interaction, exchange, and networking among attendees and exhibitors.

The Integrated Learning Activities will include sessions such as our ever-popular Roundtable Discussions, 5th Annual Open Source Plug Fest, Vendor Tie-in Sessions, CIIP Study Groups, Innovation Theater Presentations, Demonstrations, and more.
